“Count Me, Include Me” is my Mission 2020
As the president of NFDN, in 2018, I suggested “Count
Me, Include Me” the national theme of International Day of Persons with
Disabilities, December 3rd 2018 to the Ministry of Women Children
and Senior Citizen during the meeting of main event organizing committee. The
theme was accepted and I felt very proud of that because it was a strong slogan
of people with disabilities particularly to claim their meaningful and
contributing participation in the whole development
process. After that time
the slogan was established as the main voice of people with disabilities. This
theme was highly appreciated by youth with disabilities and now they are
promoting this theme as the main motto of their campaign of inclusion. After my
departure from NFDN, I have engaged myself in the capacity building and
organizing youth with disabilities in the disability rights movement and
supporting themselves to conduct disability rights campaign which I am enjoying
a lot.
Just before one day of 2020 I had an opportunity to
participate a review and reflection program of youth with disability about
“Count Me, Include Me”. I am really impressed by the effort of young people and
their idea and thought to lead the disability rights movement in a new way.
It has given me more energy to work with youth friends for
the "Count Me Include Me" campaign and this is my new year's
resolution for 2020. Thank you to all youth with disabilities who worked to
establish this theme as the campaign. My all dear friends, I commit to work with
you and support you to promote inclusion and inclusive development, CRPD and
SDG Localization, Access to justice through this campaign. I will try my best
to work for ending all kind of discrimination against person with disabilities
giving special focus to those who are really left behind and underrepresented.
Happy New year 2020
